A TweetDelete alternative without a subscription

Updated 2026-09-21 · Written by the TweetXDelete team

TweetXDelete is a TweetDelete alternative for a cleanup you run in desktop Chrome. The first 30 successful operations are included; a licence then costs $4.99 at launch without a subscription. TweetDelete offers a web service with recurring plans and scheduled tasks. This comparison is written by the TweetXDelete team.

What changes when you choose an extension

TweetDelete connects to your X account through an authorisation flow. Its FAQ explains how to revoke that access and how its automatic tasks work. TweetXDelete instead runs inside the X session already open in Chrome. The extension does not ask for your X password or create a separate OAuth connection, but it does use that existing session to act on your account.

The practical difference is where the job runs. TweetXDelete needs your computer, browser and X tab to remain open. It does not offer cloud processing or a scheduler. TweetDelete describes recurring automatic tasks for ongoing cleanup. Check which current plan includes the task you need.

Compare the price and the allowance

TweetXDelete includes 30 successful operations in total across posts, reposts and likes. It is one shared allowance, not 30 per category. The advertised launch licence is $4.99 paid once for lifetime access and unlimited deletions. See the current price and licence terms.

Unlimited means that the licence has no deletion count cap. It does not remove X's rate limits, make inaccessible items available, guarantee a completion time or guarantee compatibility with future X changes.

TweetDelete's FAQ describes subscription tiers, but its public pages give inconsistent details about free access and some limits. We do not assign it a fixed free allowance here. Open TweetDelete's plan page and confirm the price, renewal and included actions for your account before paying. That page currently leads to X sign in.

TweetDelete details checked on 21 September 2026 against its FAQ, archive instructions, likes guide and automatic task guide. This is a documentation comparison, not a measured speed or account safety test.

What happens to an archive and other data

TweetDelete's archive workflow asks you to upload a data file. TweetXDelete reads an extracted file on your computer instead. Loading an archive can supply older items that a scan does not return. It does not guarantee that every item can be removed. For the actual steps, see the posts guide or the likes guide.

TweetXDelete does make network requests beyond deletion requests to X. Purchased licence keys are validated with the payment provider. When scanning, the extension retrieves a settings file, and an unrecoverable X error can trigger a limited anonymous error report. Trial usage counts are stored locally.

Our servers do not receive or store your X password, session cookies, posts or archive file. Error reports exclude usernames, user IDs, post IDs, post text and page content. The proof page lists the request contents; the privacy page also covers purchases, contact messages and website analytics.

Choose around the job you need to run

TweetXDelete fits a cleanup you are prepared to run in Chrome, with a local archive if needed and no subscription. TweetDelete's scheduled tasks may fit better if you want recurring cleanup handled by a web service.

In TweetXDelete, Date limit sets a cutoff before a chosen date. The current panel has no start and end date range or keyword filter. Keep the last 7 days is initially enabled, and Stop after caps the run. For likes, the date rules differ from when you clicked the heart; use the likes guide before choosing those settings.

TweetXDelete waits when X signals a rate limit. X availability, account access and platform changes can still interrupt processing. Before a larger run, check the selected account and action, set a small limit, and inspect the result on X. Keep a copy of your archive if you want a personal record; the extension cannot restore deleted posts.

If you decide to switch

  1. Stop any active TweetDelete automatic task before starting a cleanup in another tool. Its FAQ explains stopping tasks, cancelling a subscription and revoking access. These are separate actions.
  2. Install TweetXDelete from the Chrome Web Store on your computer, then sign into the intended X account in Chrome.
  3. Open the extension panel, select the action you want and use a small Stop after value for the first run. Confirm the account and queued count before starting.
  4. If the scan misses older items, request your X archive and follow the relevant guide. Allow time for X to prepare the archive.

There is no subscription transfer between the products. Installing TweetXDelete does not cancel a TweetDelete plan or revoke its access.

Frequently asked questions

Is TweetXDelete the same product as TweetDelete?

No. They are separate products. TweetDelete is a web service with subscription plans. TweetXDelete is a Chrome extension that runs in your existing X session and offers a licence for a single payment.

Is TweetXDelete free?

The first 30 successful operations are included across posts, reposts and likes combined. Further operations require a licence. The launch price is $4.99 for lifetime access and unlimited deletions, with no subscription. X access and rate limits still apply.

Can TweetXDelete delete older posts from an archive?

Yes. You can load the extracted posts file from your X archive to find older posts missing from a scan. The file is processed locally and is not uploaded. An archive does not guarantee that every post remains accessible or can be deleted.

Does TweetXDelete need access to my X account?

Yes. The extension acts through the X session you have already signed into in Chrome. It does not request your X password or use a separate OAuth connection. Existing session access is still account access, so review the selected account and action before confirming a run.

Can TweetXDelete run a cleanup on a schedule?

No. TweetXDelete runs while your Chrome browser and X tab remain open. It has no cloud scheduler. It waits when X signals a rate limit, and changes to X can interrupt a run or require an extension update.
